Between the plains of Granada, down to the coast of the Costa Tropical lie three very different but equally spectacular valleys. Each steeped in charm, marked in history and fable the valleys of the Sierra del Chaparral foothills, Los Guajares and Lecrin still retain much of their Moorish ancestry and style. Many of these village communities provide some of the dreamiest rural settings in southern Spain. Yet, while close to the coastline of the Mediterranean, some villages are less than an hours drive north, their climates can be very different such that the winters are less severe than around the Sierra Nevada and Alpujarras. With warm days during the winter months, the nights can be very cold. Generally though in Spring and Autumn the weather is warm and sunny; with very hot summers, yet with less humidity than on the coast, the temperatures can feel less harsh.
